The Federal Reserve and the Stock Market Forecast for 2019 - 1987 or 1995?

There is a saying that history repeats itself. There is some truth to this. However, we find more validity in the statement that although history may not repeat itself exactly, it often does rhyme. If historical patterns followed exactly to a predefined script, it would be relatively simple to forecast the markets. Unfortunately, the process is not that easy.Nevertheless, history can give us some clues as to future outcomes as long as we recognize its limitations in forecasting. In order to try to see what the stock market holds in store for us for 2019, we need to look at recent history to see if there were any parallels to today in terms of political and economic conditions. We find that the years 1987 and 1995 have some interesting parallels to 2019 to be worthy of detailed analysis.
