Are We on the Eve of Another Commodity Super-Cycle?
Historically aggressive government stimulus and a political shift away from fossil fuels have revived expectations of an impending commodity super-cycle. In early 2021, at least one prominent bank proclaimed the dawn of a new commodity boom. The premise is founded on the fact that there are similar structural forces to those which drove commodities in the 2000s. However, some factors cannot be ignored and could thwart a repeat of what we saw in previous decades.
